New Investment

We are pleased to announce major new investment in Oil & Gas Systems Limited, which is being used to fund expansion in the UK as well as a new manufacturing plant in Kaliningrad (Oil & Gas Systems Baltia Ltd). This free port on the Baltic enjoys year-round access by sea and will be used for large systems for export around the world as well as systems for Russia and the Former Soviet Union. This new manufacturing plant will join the existing plant near Swansea in South Wales in operating under ISO 9000:2000.

Gas Boost Lift Compressor

The plant is located on the Forties Charlie (FC) Platform.

The function of the plant is to supply natural gas at the required conditions (Medium Gas Lift) to well 3-1 in order to increase oil production. The plant was designed in a skid module form utilising standard equipment wherever possible to minimise maintenance costs.

The scope of supply included:

Apache owned an ex-rental compressor which had been manufactured in the USA (refer to pictures below). Our scope was to dismantle all original equipment, inspect and refurbish the Ariel compressor, undertake complete detailed design, install new motors, supply air blast cooler, pumps, vessels, pipework, valves and instruments to meet the process design fully in accordance with ATEX and PED requirements. This included the necessary modifications to the original compressor to meet the requirements of ATEX and provide the Certificate of Conformity and CE mark both for the compressor and the complete assembly.

The project was undertaken on a fast track basis and was completed from conceptual design to mechanical completion in 8 weeks. All of the design, engineering and project management was completed in-house at our office located in Ely and the fabrication, welding, assembly and testing was carried out at our workshop located in Swansea.

The compressor package was then functionally (string) tested in our works using a mobile generator to provide the power for the 160 kW motor and hooked-up to the HMI to provide the control.

This package has now been delivered and has been installed on the platform (refer to pictures below) awaiting site erection and hook-up of the process pipework and the installation of the electrical power supply and SCADA system.

Double Century in Gas Turbine Fuel Feeds

Oil & Gas Systems Fuel Gas Conditioning Packages now supply the fuel needs of more than 200 industrial scale gas turbines world wide. This was achieved when the Al Kamil Plant in Oman was put into commercial operation. Equipment for a further 25 gas turbines is due to be put into commercial use in the next six months.

Qatar Offshore

Oil & Gas Systems have shipped the Fuel Gas treatment equipment to be incorporated by Hyundai Heavy Industries into offshore facilities being assembled in Ulsan, South Korea for use offshore Qatar.

Oman

Oil & Gas Systems have shipped and have now commissioned the complete gas conditioning package for the Al Kamil Power station in Oman. The plant incorporates heating, pressure letdown, filtration and fiscal metering.

Saudi Arabia

Oil & Gas Systems have successfully commissioned the Gas Conditioning Equipment which they designed and manufactured to feed 52 gas turbine generators on two power station sites in Saudi Arabia. The order worth more than US $10 million is thought to be the largest single order ever placed for such equipment.

Egypt

Oil & Gas Systems has successfully commissioned and handed over a £5m Plant supplied to GASCO in Egypt through ENPPI in Cairo.

The Plant consists of 4 Mafi-Trench Turbo Expander/Compressors, and all the associated process pipework and control valves mounted on 6 skid packages each measuring 4.2m x 4.2m x14m long.

These were transported by road and seafreight to the site in Alexandria from Oil & Gas Fabrications workshops in Swansea, South Wales.
