Heating

Many types of heating systems are available including bath type indirect heaters, direct and indirect electric heaters, shell and tube heat exchangers and heating medium packages utilising boiler systems or direct fired heaters in conjunction with hot oil or water/glycol mixtures.

Choice of heater type and associated temperature control system will depend on a number of factors including:

  • Heat duty
  • Plot or weight restrictions
  • Availability and cost of utilities
  • Availability of existing heat sources such as hot water or steam
  • Customer preference
  • Compliance with hazardous area requirements

Both vertical and horizontal configurations are available with vertical units used when available plot areas are limited.

Vessels are built to any recognised construction codes and special standards, e.g. PD550, ASME, GOST, NACE etc.

Units can be supplied as skid mounted packages complete with valves, piping and instrumentation.
Products - Heating

It is often critical in gas systems that the gas temperature is maintained at a safe margin above dew point and/or hydrate temperature.

Heaters are required when the gas supply temperature is:

  • Low and at or near dew point
  • When the gas supply pressure is high and significant cooling takes place on pressure reduction due to the Joule Thompson effect
  • When ambient conditions cause cooling of gas piping with some liquids condensing out
